It looks like we're going to see a warm up with some needed rain in the next few days, followed by more winter like conditions. We continue to find steelhead in the lower ends of the river systems that we've been fishing. Fishing closer to the river mouths gives us better chances at chromer and fresher fish coming in from the lake. Water temps have climbed into the high 30's, making these fish a bit more grabby compared to normal. Egg patterns have been our top producers in orange and yellow, as well as swinging some flashy flies through runs. Take advantage of this current warm up and above average temperatures this week. The extended forecast calls for some colder temps and our rivers might start to lock up again after the 1st of the year.

Get out on the river
Our mission is connecting people to the rivers we fish, while teaching them the value of our fisheries, one trip, one river and one cast at a time.
Book NowWe have been a client of Werkman Outfitters for several years now. Tom and Max are friendly, personable, easy to talk with & encouraging. Their knowledge of the Grand River is second to none. We have targeted smallies & pike, steelhead and salmon. Each species has it's unique habitat, habits, lure selection and challenges. We use them exclusively for West Michigan river fishing and do so several times each year.
