The cold front came through and it looks like it'll be sticking around for awhile. We are still running trips but it's become a day by day game depending on weather and river conditions. If the cold sticks around for awhile, don't be surprised if you start to see some ice forming on area rivers and the lower sections starting to lock up.
The rivers have bumped a little from the recent rain and that's helped to shuffle the deck and push some fresh steelhead into area systems.
With that said, both the swing game and the indicator fishing have been producing for us. On the swing side try using Halloween Leach patterns with orange and chartreuse heads or a Dirty Bird Sculpin pattern, with added flash. Given how low the rivers continue to be, we are using T-8 or T-11 tips off of floating line.
If you're going to float indicators, try using milked out eggs colors and start to make multiple drifts over holes where you see the current moving at a "walking pace." These fish are going to start to get settle into the deeper holes and are become more sluggish from the cold. Be patient, making multiple drifts and consistently switching out your egg patterns until you find what they want.
